Power outtage due to snow storm.

Well here in Virginia we had a some snow (up to 6 inches or more in some spots) it is melting fast but last night around 10:00pm my power abruptly went out shutting my server down (hard shutdowns make me freak out). So the main website is down but this blog is hosted on blogger.com so this will be up. I am hogging my parents internet and updating via netbook. I won't have power till at the earliest Wed. 22. Oh well gotta ruff it. Will be fully operational as soon as possible!

Frightfest in Scotland and more dead news

Frightfest is taking place in Scotland as part of the Glasgow Film Festival programme. I love zombie movies, especially the typical apocalyptic zombie movies. I am a classics guy my favorite is "Day of The Dead-1985" which stars Joe Pilato as the order shouting to the point of making me laugh, not that its not a serious movie, his lines still make me chuckle and they mention him in the linked article below. I also like Dawn of the Dead (new and old) and similar others. I never get tired of zombie movies. Check out the article for more info below.

Twisted Metal PS3

Well I guess tonight is video game news night, might as well keep it rolling. Twisted Metal is one of my all time favorites that I have enjoyed since the PS1. The latest installment for the PS3 features over a dozen new and old characters, 2-4 player split screen and up to 16 online. Also if you pre-order with gamestop you get 30 days early access to Axel (Twisted Metal 2- man with wheels on the end of his arms and a shockwave special attack) and yes I used to play the hell out of the Twisted Metal series, this better be as good or better than Twisted Metal 2. I already got my pre-order in.

The Darkness II

I have the original "The Darkness" for the PS3. But I just now noticed (I am a bit late to the game) that "The Darkness 2" has been released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC. I have already put the game on my steam wish list. When I have the spare bucks I will buy it. First I will play through "The Darkness", the first one for the PS3 then I will buy the second one for the PC on Steam.

Gotham City Imposters (PC, PS3, XBOX 360)

I recently bought and started to play the new "Gotham City Imposters". A team based first person where you play as either batman wannabes or joker wannabes in this fun game. I only played a little bit because I only got 2.5 hours of sleep last night. But from what I played the game had cool weapons and items such as the glider pack where you can jump and glide around then pounce downward from the air inflicting damage. Boomerangs, slingshot bombs, grappling hooks and other nifty devices. I played a quick game online as "The Bats" in team deathmatch and it was a typical first person shooters but with some real fun abilities. I purchased my copy on Steam (link below) for $14.99. Their is already downloadable content (DLC) for the game which already includes a total of 9 items for the game currently totaling $33.91. Yes the DLC total is more than twice the price of the game. But the game is cheap for a brand new game. Gotham City Imposters is available on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Sounds great just wish their was complete compatibility between mobile devices and x86 based PC's.

Battlefield 3 Gamestop midnight release!

Finally the wait is over for one of my favorite video game series "Battlefield". I think the series is a lot better than the Call of Duty series because of 2 main features. Battlefield has vehicles to drive, from jets to jeeps and expansive maps that are massive.

So I will be leaving for the local Gamestop at around 11:45 pm to pick up my limited edition PC version. I look forward to crushing my enemies online! Bombs Away!

I recently bought the PS3 320GB Move bundle and have been playing Killzone 3 with move controllers inserted in the official PS3 move gun which looks pretty damn cool. The controllers work better than the Nintendo wii IMO. The only problem I have is that my arm gets tired. Waaa waaa waa lifes a bitch hehe .

My favorite comic character of all time, Morbius The Living Vampire. Recent rumours say he was considered as the bad guy for the new spider-man movie, but rumors have since changed. He was a great anti-hero. Not exactly a villian and not a super do good-er.

He was changed into a vampire scientifically while looking for a cure for a blood disease he had. The side affect was vampirism. I have all his figures, most of the comics and even two sculpted busts. Check him out.

I have been waiting for this game for some time now. It should be coming out in five days at least for the pc. Windows 7 (all versions starter-ultimate, 32bit and 64bit) Service Pack 1 is out on windows update. If you have Windows 7 run windows update and download and install it. I have already installed it on all my computers and it works fine. If it says "failed" just reboot and run windows update again.
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is a cumulative update that contains a long list of updates, new features and security/stability patches all in one update.

ASUS Eee PC 1015PN-PU17

I just recently put an order in for a new netbook, not that anything is wrong with the one I have (its fast and has windows 7 pro) but the ASUS Eee 1015PN series has a dual core atom processor(unlike my current single core atom) so it can run windows 7 or Vista 64bit editions. The netbook comes with 1GB of DDR3 RAM so I went ahead and bought a 2GB stick of DDR3 SODIMM from crucial.com which was only $25 dollars and both the crucial.com ram and the laptop had free shipping.

But the main reason I bought the netbook is because it has an nvidia ION 2 graphics chip although not top-end by any means but for a netbook it is. It also has nvidia optimus technology. They claim you can play WoW even though I do not play that game. It does have decent but not top end graphics. For a netbook however this is break through.

Mirror's Edge 2 Canned !?!?!

This is a shame. I hope someone picks it up. Dare I say Mirror's Edge was one of my favorite games. Very unique platform first person melee and some weapon combat (mostly puzzle jumper) and you played as a hot asian chick and the graphics where stylized and very good.

Bugs bugs bugs, I am working out bugs on my server, had to find windows 7 compatible server software so now I think I got it all figured out. We will see, if it crashes over night then I might have some hardware problems. But so far, so good. Let's hope it stays that way

Aliens Vs. Predator and Force Unleash: Ultimate Sith Edition

I just recently played through both campaigns of Aliens vs. Predator and Star Wars: Force Unleash-Ultimate Sith Edition (has bonus material and levels) which are both great games (I have them through steam on the PC).Alien vs. Predator is a game with three intertwined stories, you can be the marine, predator or alien is this FPS remake of the classic (2000). Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition has extra characters (I believe) and three extra levels including hoth and tatooine played by a new sith assassin Starkiller.All in all I would give AVP a 4.0 out of 5.0 and Force Unleashed a 4.5 out of 5.0.

Transformer: War For Cybertron PC game

Transformers: War For Cybertron for the PC has been recently released. It utilizes the Unreal 3 engine and has spectacular visual effects. You control your transformer from third person. There are classes to choose from or you can make your own custom class of transformer. The game also supports co-op so you can play through the game as both Decepticons and Autobots. So far I have really enjoyed this great game, I look forward to playing more this weekend.

I just finished watching "The Road" released in 2009. Director: John Hillcoat. The movie entails a post-apocalyptic setting where a father and son must survive against cannibals, starvation and all the things a dreary settings as such would have. I won't ruin the ending but its worth a watch or rental. I give it a 3.5 out of 5

This trailors kinda lame and short, but hey its something. I loved the original Crysis and the expansion pack and had a blast hurrling people in the air with the suit set to power mode.
